Hey, hey! We're half way through the work week and its a LOST night, so things are good ;)
My plan after work today was to walk Frank, give him a bath, and then relax and take a night off from the gym. While the walk/bath happened...I did end up working out. I made a big decision last week to train in another Les Mills program, Body Attack! One of my friends, whose already certified, let me borrow her DVD so I could start learning the moves, so I did the video tonight and boy did I sweat! From the Les Mills website:
"BODYATTACK™ is the sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilization exercises. Dynamic instructors and powerful music motivate everyone towards their fitness goals - from the weekend athlete to the hard-core competitor!"
You runners out there would LOVE this class. Here and here are promo videos for attack. I am going to training in Florida next weekend for two days, I am SUPER excited.
Any who, onto dinner! I made a half batch of spanikopita burgers tonight for dinner.
Wow, that promo looks awesome but tough! Its so cool your going to train to teach it!
I am in love with Arnold sandwich thins...try them with hummus, omg.
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it (as does my family).
a very balanced meal~ :D I need to try these Arnold thins, I'm seeing them everywhere!
fitness goal for this year? more yoga, strength work and less cardio.
SOOOO DELISH!! Spanikopita is my favorite Greek dish :-)
**Fitness goal = gain muscle mass.
Those burgers look great! My goals are in line right now. I need to step up my workouts, but my slow and steady plan with running is going well.
Les Mills are the classes they teach here at the gyms where we live in Brazil. I love Body Balance, but haven't tried the others.
Ooh, I am going to make a similar burger this weekend!! I'll let you know how it turns out. I'm 27 days into 30 days of Pilates. Love it.
Yummy looking burgers!
I've always been afraid to try Body Attack. I don't really have a good reason why, other than the name scares me maybe? "Attack" just sounds hard. :)
My fitness goal is to start running. I have attempted many times, but always give up when shin splints kick in.
THat looks great Erica! Yourmeals always do though. Josh AND Frank are lucky boys.
I didn't make any goals! But I'm comfortable with where I'm at. I guess my goal would be to keep doing what I'm doing. :)
oh how exciting that you're going to be training!
That video sounds like a great workout! Woohoo for Florida!
Body Attack sounds hardcore! And tasty tasty!
I just starting taking body attack here in tucson az and i thought i was in shape that class kicks your butt its great i love it the instructors are so high energy! good luck training
I love the arnold thins as buns too, soo good.
I set some fintess goals for myself, and as someone who didn't go to the gym often at all, I have definitely improved.
Have fun in Florida next week as well that sounds like fun.
You always have the greatest looking dinners!!
Another class? You are a machine!! :)
I love Arnold Thins!!
this comment is a little late, its actually in response to YESTERDAYS post (the part about the protein powder). im actually OBSESSED with that exact brand of protein powder, but i prefer it in the vanilla flavor. My favorite lunch/power snack ever (i actually had it today!) is a shake/smoothie consisting of 1 packet vanilla whey protein powder (that exact same brand!), 1 frozen banana, 1 cup light vanilla soymilk, 1/2 cup nonfat fage yogurt, LOTS of cinnamon, a little stevia, and some ice. blend it all up and im telling you, it is creamy, dreamy, ecstasy in a glass! love the blog!
ohhhh. spanikopita burgers sound delicious! and i love a good brussel sprout! your dinner looks delicious!
Laura- thank you so much for the advice!!
I love using the Arnie thins for buns! Great looking dinner!
Fitness goals are on their way, but could use a little kick in the butt as we enter the second month of the year.
Those look amazing!!! YUM!
My fitness goal is so get some form of cardio in everyday. I've been walking on the treadmill this past week and I love it!
That looks awesomely intense! The class i mean :D ha the burgers look delish as all your food does....I guess my fitness goals was to fit more dancing in, instead of just the gym and i have been, so yay!
Body attack sounds brutal, but awesome! Great dinner! My fitness goal this year is to run more often. So far, so good!
Have a wonderful night!
aawww I missed you! I thought you didn't like me anymore so I didn't want to bother you but I guess its your google reader that doesn't like me! :-P
how awesome you are going to that training- you are one amazing lady!
I would LOVE that class! frank and jack would be best buds i think -they could snore together!
Your food is just driving me crazy...it's so pretty and sounds yumm.
Fitness goals? I seem to be injury prone this year, so my goal is to go to the gym 4-5 days a week and do whatever does not hurt me!
i love spinach! those burgers look great!
my fitness goals are flexibility and strength. i've gone to yoga once and lifted weight a couple times...running is just so much more exhilarating!
I want to make those burgers SO bad!
Ah, the workout sounds fun!!! I really wish we had cool classes like that where I live :(
BODYATTACK!! Haha I just love the name. It reminds me of P90X because it screams INTENSE! As far as my fitness goal, P90X is going pretty well so far! I'm starting to combine it with some of my regular workouts and finding that the combination is even better :o)
I want your burgers!!
Spanikopita is one of my FAVORITE things ever. And as burgers? Holy moly! I've said it before, but you are a genius child.
I set fitness goals and so far I've been doing pretty well. We'll see where I am in a month!
Oh yum. Those burgers look delish. I've never heard of putting spanikopita in burger form. Very cool.
I'm pretty much on schedule with my goal to train for a half marathon. However, I would like to add more circuit and ab training.
Btw, thanks for your comment on my blog!!!
Hooray for Lost night!! Once I'm done blogging we are going to watch. ;)
BodyAttack sounds intense - I bet I would love it. I can't wait to hear how the training in FL goes.
Your dinner looks so good - love the green peeking out of the burgers. I still haven't found Arnold's sandwich thins. However, I hear a rumor they sell them at the new Publix up the street. Going to check it out soon.
My fitness goal for the new year was more yoga. I think I'm doing okay. :)
Those burgers look and sound amazing! Do you think they would work with veggie crumbles?
I have never heard of Spanikopita! But it looks delicious ... I might have to try those sometime soon.
Hope Lost was good (I kinda wish I had started watching it from the beginning so I could be in the loop, lol). Have a great Thursday, Erica! : )
wow ! that is an intense looking class, what a booty kicker! thats awesome :)
my fitness goals are to stay consistent and not get in a funk and forget about working out. I used to be realy good for 2 weeks and then i'd stop for another 2 and keep the cycle going. I've been pretty consistent since about november of last year! its the longest i've gone and it feels greattt :)
and about the headhunter... how do i go about finding one? i seem pretty clueless about it all? do you pay them? how does it really work? thanks girllll!
The burger looks so green and delicious.
Oh, thanks for calling me out! I wanted to run outside more and haven't yet. :D Just kidding. I don't feel bad - it's too cold out!
Body Attack sounds awesome, girl! Way to keep it new + exciting!!
Your burgers look great! Have a super day!
body attack sounds INTENSE!
and those burgers look mighty delicious. hard to make?!
the pup is adorable too!
Body Attack sounds awesome!! Good luck with the training. I haven't tried those buns, they look great! I need to find them!
We have been swimming laps a couple times a week...along with my elliptical workouts and running, weights, abs, yoga, etc. Swimming is awesome! I really love it and it is a great workout! I am glad I started it up!
yum on the burgers - I love how HE has 2 and you have 1 :) men!
I wanted to start running and I started back in Dec and I'm still at it!
oh and the arnold sammich thins taste GREAT - toasted to a crisp and spread with EArth Balance (vegan butter) soooo good! but I second the hummus suggestion! my MIL is getting a huge tub of Sabra hummus for me and sammich thins and I intend on making a yummy veggielicious sammich w/ hummus & sprouts eventually!
spanakopita is awesome!
I haven't tried those arnold thins yet...they just don't look so filling to me! maybe you can prove me wrong?
good luck on your fitness goals!
Those burgers sound good. My friend is a certified body attack instructer and she did a class for a group of us one weekend we were all together. It is hard! such a good workout.
Arnold thins are seriously the best - those burgers look AMAZING! I'm training to run my first 10 mile race ever - so far so good!
Looks like a very healthy and balanced meal! I'm still trying very hard to get myself started on some exercise!
ahh i want to take those classes! can i come visit sometime and we'll have an aerobics fest? :D
i have yet to try the sandwich thins.. the burgers look great though!
hope you're having a great day!
Love the Spanikopita burgers. Love them. Fitness goals? The workouts are going well, but the diet keeps getting sidelined by the cheese counter at my local gourmet shop. Guess it's all about working out so I can eat more cheese!
Love, love, LOVE Arnold's sandwich thins. :-) Spani - what? hahaha, I couldn't pronounce it but they look sooo yummy!
My fitness goal was mainly to be more consistent with my workouts and also branch out more. I've been consistent...workin' on the branching out!
So you really liked the body attack? You could feel like you were working?
Those spanikopita burgers sound super yum! I love that idea!
I have Lost saved on my DVR for tonight - can't wait to get home and watch! :)
those burgers sound/look really good. im thinking ill try a meat fee version with my new TJs purchase yesterday! i have been all about using english muffins on my burgers lately.
Ok those burgers sound awesome, will be trying those soon!! I love spinach.
My fitness goal this year is to do my second sprint triathlon! I just joined the triathlon team at my YMCA and I start training next week, I'm pretty excited about. I have been struggling with weight loss since I had my little girl so I am hoping this will do the trick (and be more fun and interesting than the same old workout). Anyway...hope you have a great night!
fantastical burgers :) and i'm with you on those thins!!
