A Treat/Salads and Bread

Did you have a good one? My Tuesday was super busy! Work was total craziness! When I got home, I found a very fun package containing my wins from a contest on Tri to Cook!! I cannot wait to bake with these cinnamon chips! Thank you thank you!

After opening my goodies, I took Frank for a walk, gave him a bath, put in some laundry and then did some cooking. I made this bread (I added a little extra honey). I also cooked up some chicken for Josh's salad. I made up both salads and put them in the fridge.

Josh's (he also had a bowl of pasta):
Mine (I later added some tomato):

The bread:

I then ran off to the gym to teach Body Step. When I came home, I was thrilled to have dinner already made! Do you like puting together make ahead meals?

I like to cook on weekends and make big batches of soups and stews so I have them ready all throughout the week.

I love cooking ahead but it doesn't always happen. I like to make extra of certain things and use the leftovers in other recipes for for lunches.
I hope class was great!

Fun, cinnamon chips! ... sounds pretty good!

Ready-to-meals are the best!! I don't hardly ever do it, but it's so nice when you have something to look forward to eating without having to do a thing!

Bread looks great, too (as all your baked goods always do;)

Hope you have a good night, Erica!

Mmm, cinnamon chips! Never tried them, but they sound good. The only real make ahead meals I do are my work lunches which are usually leftovers of whatever I have been cooking up!

I love make ahead meals! I work later hours than I'd like, so it's nice to have something waiting for me at 7:00 when I get home. I should really make more of an effort to plan my meals ahead during the work week.

I miss being able to to go Body Step! I've always loved Les Mills classes.

I've been seeing a lot of homemade bread lately in the blogworld. Makes me want to get baking - anything to cover up the broccoli stench! :)

I love preparing dinner ahead of time...one of my favorite appliances is our crockpot. I love it - just throw everything in before work, and when you get home in the evening, dinner is all warm and ready to eat. Brilliant invention that crockpot!

Oh that is exciting. There must be something in the air, because everyone keeps winning stuff. Cinnamon is my favorite secret ingredient, but in a chip...delicious. I had no idea they even existed. You just made my day =) and made my mouth water =)

O man those cinnamon chips make me think- snickerdoodles :D!! Yummy bread, I agree having food made and ready when you get home is so nice...also, you can use it as motivation to get thru a hard class!

Yum! Cinnamon chips! Do you know by chance if they have partially hydrogenated oils in them? It seems like all the flavored chips do these days.

Oh god, cinnamon chips? Good thing they don't have those where I live, I'd be in trouble.

We used to use cinnamon chips in the bakery I worked in to make scones and muffins. They were so good!

I don't mind make ahead meals in the crockpot, but aside from soup or rice and beans I'm not a big leftover fan. Nothing tastes as good to me the second time around for some reason.

Great package from Shannon! I've never heard of cinnamon chips!

That bread looks fantastic! Another great baking job by Miss Erica :o)

I wish I made more meals ahead of time! I could certainly get more variety that way!

I can't wait to see what you create with your cinnamon chips! YUM!

As for make-ahead meals, I normally plan ahead so everything's ready to go by dinner time. I prep cook whenever I can.

Have a good day, girly!

What a nice package!! I love cinnamon chips! We cook a lot on weekends and maybe a couple nights a week. The other nights we do easy stuff, salads, sandwiches, quesidillas, paninnis, etc. and sometimes just cereal:)
