These bars are VERY unique. The ingredients are as follows (according to the Bumble Website):
Organic agave syrup, Organic apricots, Organic sesame seeds, Organic almond, Organic flax, Organic coconut, Organic apricot flavor, Sea salt, Natural Vitamin E for freshness, Processing agents: Organic safflower and/or sunflower
The taste of these bars is very unique. This particular flavor had an interesting blend of savory and sweet, but the taste of the sesame seeds definitely dominates. The bar is sticky and slightly crunchy. Not my favorite bar flavor yet, I am hoping I will really love one of the other bumbles.
When I got home tonight, I ran 3 miles and did 10 minutes of abs via exercise tv. I then made up some dinner of turkey and bean chili. On the side, I made up some tortilla and flat out wrap chips (brushed with a hint of oil and sprinkled with chili powder and baked until crispy- note...the flat out wrap chips cook VERY quickly).
I again have tons to do tonight! I am hoping to fly through it! I get to work from home Tuesday-Thursday this week and I am thrilled! You may see a lunch post or two ;)
Your dinner looks good, too! Those flat out chips sound pretty good. Yay for working from home! I would love to be able to do that, hope you enjoy it : )
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of those bars either, as I already told you, haha ;-) Oh well!!
Happy Monday evening!!
oh that bumble bar looks good, thanks for the review,
i'm a little iffy on sesame seeds sometimes i love them (like in sesame snaps) but sometimes they make me wanna gag- that is kinda weird, but anywhoo
sounds like yum ingredients i'm off to their website now to check out other flavors, keep us posted on what you think of the others
Those chips look scrumtious hope your night isn't too flat out
ok, i'm not going to lie. i didn't see the comma in your title, and felt a little vomit come up in my throat when i thought you were reviewing a TURKEY BEAN CHILI flavored bumble bar.
that said, that lovely, flavorful chili sounds delicious! i prefer a turkey chili to ground beef, i feel like it's lighter and lets the tomato, bean and veggie flavors shine through.
happy monday :)
Thanks for the Bumble review - I don't think I'd be a big apricot fan, either.
I love your dinner! I'm going to keep the Flat Out tortilla chips in mind!
Oh, and I am SO pumped for Lost! Bobby and I are just now scrambling to finish the 4th season, but since there were not too many shows last year, we should be set by the 21st! Wahoo :o)
Have fun working from home! Glad to hear your honest review of the bar. :)
i've been wanting to try those bars-- good to know they're kinda meh.
dinner looks great!
have a wonderful night <3
I love the review of the bar - and I LOVED the chili - I need some of that.
Yea working from home! Love when that happens - you can always take a few extra minutes at the gym that way :) Or, at least I do. Good to know the Bumbles aren't necessarily the best, but hopefully there will be one out there that strikes your fancy.
aw so sorry apricot did not win you over- to be honest- so far I am not a true fan either - but the apricot was my "favorite" so far. It was odd because it didn't even taste like apricot really.
If you have another and enjoy it please let me know!
I totally agree that the sesame flavor dominates completely and I do not enjoy that aspect.
monday was pretty good- your turkey chili looks FAB!!!
Cheers to Tuesday!
Funny - the bumble bar looks like a bunch of bird food glued together! thanks for the review!
LOL you are totally right - Frank and Lando would definitley be buds :) I don't know what it is - I'm a total sucker for the wringles too! :)
Your chips look like you cooked them perfectly! Ejoy working from home!!
your dinners are always such an inspiration! I love that you always come up with something different to cook every night...and that chili looks awesome!
have fun working from home the next couple of day girl!
Have a goodnight :)
That bar looks tasty; I'll have to try it!
Yep, they are definitely unique. I didn't have the apricot flavor, so I can't weigh in, but try either the chocolate cherry or lemon next.
Enjoy working from home this week- I love when I get to do that!
Dinner looks so delish :)
YUM! the chili looks almost like salsa or dip! Thanks for the review..and i've only cooked flat outs in the toaster ov, but they get soo black and crispy they are delish.
Love anything involving Flat Out wraps, but I've never used them for chips. Great idea!
Thanks for the Bumble review. I always pass over them in Whole Foods. Can't wait to hear what you think about the other flavors as I'm always looking for a new bar.
Hope you get all your to-do list items done tonight. Yay for working from home 2 days this week - I know you love that. Have a good night Erica!
So, I went to a new store today, and they had those Bumble bars!! I never would have even picked them up if I hadn't seen them on your blog because of that silly bee. They only had two flavors...I think I bought a lemon one? Cool to see what they look like, I haven't opened mine yet. The ingredients seem similar to a lot of other raw bars I've tried, but they definitely don't look like that!
Looks like a good dinner. I am more than a little jealous that you get to work from home! :)
intersting sounding bars. sesame is def. not my top flavor though~ hopefully the others will be better!
Hey girl! Great idea with the Flat Out wraps. I always use tortillas to make my homemade chips, but I bet the Flat Out chips would have more of a bite to them.
Have a good Tuesday!
mmm...we have some ground turkey in the freezer...you've inspired me to make some chili! Perfect for this cold weather.
First of all I don't remember if I have commented on your new layout! I really love it!!
I want to try those Bumble bars! They looks really interesting!!
Yummmmmy chili!! And baked goods from yesterday...baking machine you were!!
i've been meaning to try a bumble bar, i've heard that the chocolate cherry ones are pretty good! i like sesame seeds... so i think i might try one soon! let us know how you like the other flavors
ohh, good idea on the flat out wrap chips!
Thanks for the review - I don't think I'll be having those bars in my near future :)
Have a great Tuesday!!
I've seen those bars several times and have been interested in giving them a try for something different. Thanks for the review!
Bumblebars are my FAVE!!!
I've been thinking about trying a Bumble Bar. Maybe I'll hold off on that!
Chili looks really good!! :)
That's a bummer about the Bumble Bar! You'll have to report back about the other flavors!
Mmm turkey bean chili sounds so good!
I'm back!! :-)
**Just as a heads up: I will not be able to comment on blogs as often now, during this semester, due to work overload (I'm stressed already) - PLEASE know that I'm still loyally reading, but just won't have time to comment. I hope you understand!!
Ooooh chili...my fave winter meal!!!
Don't you love exercise TV? I'm obsessed!
