Running in the Rain

Are you thrilled that it is Wednesday night already? I am super excited. This week seems to be crawling a little bit. I think I need to learn to appreciate week days more! My day went a little something like this: Work, lots of cleaning/laundry, and thennnnn it was time for my run. One problem- it had just started really raining. I was bummed! I thought of my options: go run at the gym, do a video at home, hmmm. And then I thought to myself- in life, there are always excuses to not do what you want-soooo why not just go for it? So I did! I ran five miles in the rain! I took a gorgeous picture of myself soaking wet haha:

Onto the eats!

Breakfast: Hard boiled egg whites, coffee (no pic….its pretty much pitch black out (5:45 am) when I eat breakfast so the pics I take aren’t coming out well!)

Lunch: Little mish mosh of sorts.Carrots/Celery and an Apple (aka Itzy’s version of Crack):
PB (to dip the carrots, celery and apple in-yummmmmm):

Applesauce:

I also had the usual yogurt (no pic).
Afternoon Snack: Coffee with skim milk ( I was falling asleep at work!), a banana, and the white of a hard boiled egg:

Dinner: Big salad with romaine, carrots, tomato, brussels, chicken, walnuts (thank you for the suggestion Diana!)

I really appreciate all of your comments on the clean eating!! You are like the best cheerleaders EVER! I also am in debt to all of you nutritionists/dietitians out there who are providing amazing advice on things like how to get more fat into my clean diet. PLEASE keep the feedback coming. Good/Bad/Ugly- I want to hear it ! And if I don’t like it, I will just delete your comment ;) Just kidding….

OK, Lost time. Yahhhh! Wish it was on every night. I will probably have a little snacky at some point ;)

;)

I wish I could of ran outside, we are getting 2-4 inches of snow though, boo! I was lazy today and didn't workout, I am such a slacker. I worked 10.5 hours and was tired. I hope one day off doesn't hurt me.
Great day of eating for you! Nuts are a great source of healthy fats to add in, great idea! I like almonds! Do you like that PB? I am sure you read the label, does it have hydrogenated oils in the ingredients? Just curious, some labels say no trans fat but they are still hiding:) I haven't had that brand so I don't know, just a heads up because most PB does have hydrogenated oils. Ok, sorry I am rambling like always!! Have a good night! Oh and I love the photo of you! So fun!

good for you going out in the rain!! truly you are an inspiration for so many- I just think the world of you!

healthy fats:

whole foods- olive oil, olives, avacadoes, fish ( I just found wild tilapia?!! i didn't know it existed), nuts: pecans, walnuts, flaxseeds, sesame seeds, nut butters, wheat germ ( i add it to my salads, smoothies, oats, everything! it doesn't really have a taste either and has ton of Vitamin E to help metabolize fat properly), ground flax seed on everything!

I hope I'm not boring you!
You had such crazy delicious and clean eats today!! way to stick to your goals!

i still haven't decided if i like running in the rain. sometimes i do, sometimes i don't. i think the love/hate relationship started the day after PB and I got engaged, when we ran our first half marathon.. in the rain.. or should i say, when i got tripped 5 minutes in an fell ew.

is that really your true eye color? you have GORGEOUS eyes!
I remember running in the rain all the time during my cross country days in high school! it's SO refreshing, as long as the temperature is reasonable!

Nice photo! I love your motivation for staying on this clean eating plan. I've been slowly switching over too. I still have to bake sweet things though, but I give them away to hubbys' office. If I didn't I'd weight 300 pounds!!!
Where's Frank? LOL

You are totally hardcore for running in the rain!

Gosh! It's been forever since I've had that PB. I need to buy some again.

Can you believe what happened at the end of Lost?!?!

Erica,
So glad you are loving the clean eating life! Wow, you're really doing well, and I love adding walnuts to my salads. Have you ever had walnut butter? It's amazing, but hard to find. I usually just make my own.

I must say that even after 5 miles in the rain, you are still gorgeous!

Lost - so good! Can you believe Sayid did it?!?

You are gorg after running in the rain! I look like a drowned rat. :-)

Hard boiled eggs sound SO good right now, I always forget about them. Do you just make a bunch and keep them ready to grab in your fridge?

I ran 5 miles in the rain on Wednesday too! I am running a half on Saturday and I figured I better be ready for yucky weather!

Good for you, running in the rain! Did you watch Lost? I made sushi bowls for everyone this week, it was a hit. Vegetarian sushi bowls, that is :-)

By the way, What Does Your Body Good? is now retired and my new site is up! I'm giving away a great cookbook so come on by!

I just had some Brussels sprouts. I love 'em! That salad looks great.

Good for you for running in the rain! I'm not a morning person at all, and when I read "5:45" I was impressed. I'm always snoozing away when that time registers on my clock!

Diana said...

Aww I feel so honored you took my suggestion! I love walnuts on salad! :)

I also LOVE running in the rain. It makes me feel hardcore!
