Flat Out Fold Its & Goals

Today was a nice/easy day. The combination of a later work meeting, dinner plans with friends, and some extreme weekend workouts, helped me to decide that today was going to be a day off from working out (did everyone read/watch MizFit’s post about her day off?). Sooo after work, I got a two pump pumpkin spice misto and ran a few errands.

Now, I’m doing a few things around the house and getting ready for our dinner out.

I make sandwiches for Josh for lunch almost every day (when there aren’t leftovers to be eaten). Josh loves more meat/cheese and less bread so when I saw these new Flat Out Fold Its, I knew he’d love them. Here are a few pictures prior to sammie making:

Josh thought the flat out fold its were pretty tasty! He likes how thin they are and noted that it was nice and doughy! I will defintely be rotating these in with his usual Arnold's Thins.

I wanted to use this post to focus back in on my goals. I was pretty successful in terms of my goals from last week (one night I missed my 6.5 hour sleep goal, but I hit all the rest!). In terms of goals for this week, I am branching out a bit. I know these aren’t as measurable as some of my past goals, but they’re areas I’d really like to work on:

  • Happy driving. Do you all get angry at slow drivers? I am use to a more…I guess northern mentality when it comes to driving (i.e. I gotta there 10 minutes ago so get out of my way…which is probably why I got a ticket haha) and get a little frustrated with the “Sunday driver” mentality. This week I’d like to take more deep breaths while driving and enjoy the ride (rather than stress)
  • Core focus. As much as I encourage my students to make sure they suck in their belly buttons and focus on core strength during my classes….I often forget to do so. This week I will try to keep my core in mind during all my workouts

The longer term goals I had set are as follows (with updates in the parenthesis):

  • RUN: Complete at least 1 race (2 would be ideal) before December (signed up for IOP Connector 10k run on October 3rd)
  • RUN: Run 12 straight miles by the New Year (I’ve gotten to 9!)
  • GROUP FITNESS: Train to teach a new group fitness program (signed up for Body Pump training first weekend in November- yikes!)
  • EAT: Try at least 1 new restaurant a month (I tried a Greek restaurant in Columbia this past weekend, but would still like to try a new Charleston area restaurant before the end of the month!)
  • FRIENDS: Have coffee with two new people/friends by the New Year (no progress…)
  • JOSH: Take 1 walk a week with Josh (I have done this each week so far!)

Have you made progress on any of your goals?

Off to dinner (GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I like to make up stories about super fast drivers (being dangerous) to make me be more okay with t hem being so ridiculous. I pretend they just really have to use the bathroom, NOW, and that is the freak out. I have no idea what to make up for slow drivers though. Hmm. Maybe they have post traumatic stress syndrome from being in an accident before? i dont know.

Good for you for taking the day off! Well deserved. Have fun at your dinner tonight. I worked out this morning so I plan on relaxing when I get home! It's been a long day.

Ahem, I feel like Southern drivers are always out for that Sunday afternoon drive. But I lived in LA for for years, so I am always out to go postal on someone. Don't worry, I've calmed down since I've moved here!
The Pats aren't my team, but Tom Brady is all sorts of deliciousness!

I'm glad you met so many of your goals last week ... yahoo!! : )

Yeah, I find myself getting irritated at Sunday drivers too, especially when I'm trying to get home for lunch when I only have 30 minutes. I'm with you on this goal!!

I will keep my eye out for those new flats...they look so neat!

Haha, I am right there with you on the road rage. I am the nicest person and love everyone, but when it comes to someone cutting me off, I become the scary crazed driver. Ugh, I need to work on my road rage too! I just have no patience when it comes to driving.

Hope you enjoyed your rest day love! :)

Those Flatout Fold Its look SO cool! I'll have to watch out for them next time I'm at Wegman's.

I have the same driving mentality as you. Good luck with that goal! ;)

Wow, those flat-out breads look perfect for making lunch! I wish I could find flat-outs in my area but so far my searches have been unsuccessful.

Good luck with your great goals and I'm glad you had a nice weekend:)

These flat outs look fantastic - my boyfriend is the same way with the meat/cheese to bread ratio - he hates a "bready" sammich... thanks girl! Enjoy your day off workin' out - you deserve it :)

I've never seen those flat outs before! They look good - I'm going to be on the hunt now ;)

Your piece about driving sounds all too familiar to me! Sunday Drivers are lucky that I don't run them over! I need to learn to take a deep breath and realize that getting frustrated with them isn't going to get me anywhere faster. Hope you have a great evening and an even better Tuesday!

good goals! I get annoyed with slow drivers too. Now I listen to podcast when I drive so it calms me down. :)

If I were nearby I would so take you up on having coffee with new people. :) I'd love to meet and chat.

Love reading your goals. You are so inspiring! I've actually kept my New Years resolutions pretty close to heart this year and those are the ones I've worked toward. I've stuck with running since January! I think I need to make a new list before years end though. Yep, I think I will. :)

Ooh - I saw those fold-its at Costco a couple weeks ago and was nervous to try them. Now I might have to give them a whirl! :)

You make me want to go and get my group training certification!! I know I already have the PT cert, but I think it would be SO FUN to do both!!

I always have a goal of getting more sleep. Somehow that's the hardest thing for me to accomplish! I vote for more hours in the day!

My bf has the same issue with bread. He is a fan of the thins but I will have to try those folds.

I have the same issue with southern drivers (I'm from CT). I am going 80, why aren't you???

Yay for reaching most of your goals! Teaching BodyPump should be super exciting!

Those flat-outs look awesome :D Sounds like a good way to spend your time off...pumpkin lattes = best thing about fall.

I need to get back to my goals!

You know, my husband has been getting tired of his lunch sandwiches ... I bet he might enjoy the change if I started using flat breads also... What a great idea to help cure the bag lunch boredom!

Great goals!! Keep us updated!

I also get really frustrated with slow drivers. Being from MA I'm a typical "Masshole" I guess!

Oo pumpkin drinks! Anything pumpkin, count me in! I have an awesome pumpkin recipe scheduled for Thurs or Fri :-)

those flatouts are SO fun and also really hilarious :)

I love your goal about being a happier driver. I have the same problem ESPECIALLY on the weekends when people who don't drive all week because they commute come out of their houses and suck at driving. I should make that a goal haha.

Those fold outs look pretty cool!

Enjoy your coffee and the day!

Those wraps are SUCH a great idea! I'm like Josh - I can go without more bread, but I like more filling. That's what fills my tummy up, anyway!

haha - I have HORRIBLE road rage! Well, okay, it could be worse (no guns in my car or anything). :-) I just h-a-t-e slow drivers - especially in the "fast" lane! I need to practice breathing deeply, too (obvi!).

great short/long term goals! i love that you post about these because it reminds me to set my own--and it feels great when you can achieve them at the end :) i definitely can have some road rage, but its usually passive aggressive--i may not use my horn at all, but ill prob be cursing them out under my breath haha. have a great day Erica! :)

I love your "Friends" goal. But I must repent for wildly banging the horn on the Wilmington cabbie who acted like he was driving in New York. Argh!

Are those sandwich wraps low cal by chance? If so, then I must look into them!

Have you heard of the book "Run Faster, Run Less?" My cousin, who is a huge runner swears by it. It has a training schedule that's really intense, but with really fast results. Thought you might be interested, good luck!

Your a pats fan?! YAY!!! How amazing was the ending of that game? I wish I just watched the last few minutes instead of wasting all that time watching them suck.

I want to see a picture of the flod all folded up! They look interesting. I am guilty of hating slow drivers too...I kills me to be behind someone who is just takin' their sweet time.

Thanks for the HRM suggestion! I must admit I'm a little heartbroken today because your Pat's kicked my Bills' booties last night- we looked so good until those last few minutes! haha! Being a Bills fan is no easy task :) Love the goals!
