Restaurant Review: Poe's Tavern, Sullivan's Island, SC

Whats going on all? I hope you had a lovely Friday! Thank you all for your responses to my question yesterday! I see that most of you make some sort of general list and then usually go for some sale or speciality items. I also make a list. I usually pick 6 dinners and make the list based off of those dinners. If I see something special or different I want to buy, I throw it in the cart! If anyone is interested, I could post my weekly list?

Ok, onto tonight! I am starting a new feature on my blog...a weekly restaurant review. Josh and I are so thrilled that we have moved to the Charleston area (have I mentioned this?) and have sooooo many yummy restaurants nearby, that we figured we'd do tag team restaurant reviews. This will be the first time Josh will be posting on my blog!! For our first review, tonight we went to Poe's Tavern on Sullivan's Island.
Erica's Review:
A great concept! The restaurant is designed around Edgar Allen Poe (hence the name) and is situated in cute downtown Sullivan's Island, SC. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and seating is first come, first serve. I can imagine that this place must be a ZOO in the summer!! The menu mainly consists of Mexican food and burgers (haha quite the random mix!). For an appetizer, Josh and I ordered tortilla chips with a chili queso dip (I know, I know- it was an indulgent dinner!!). I totally forgot my camera and promise pictures for my next review! For dinner, I got a cheese quesadilla with grilled vegi's. It was delicious! They did not skimp on the vegis and it was filling enough for a meal! Josh had the Gold Bug (burger) with Cheddar Cheese. He said it was delicious (see more in his ....very detailed review below). Overall, I loved Poe's! The atmosphere is reason enough to return!
Josh's Review:

Parking was atrocious. Burger was delicious. Table was wobbly. Great dinner.

Beer Report:Stone IPA. Seasonal draft for Poe's was spectacular.

Overall rating: 6.5 out of 8 (because Josh likes 8...he has decided his review will be out of 8 instead of the unoriginal 10 haha).

Thanks Josh :) The parking was a bit tricky. We parked on a random side street, but enjoyed the short walk as it was beautiful out!
What are you guys up to this weekend? I think we're going to a produce market in Charleston tomorrow! My Aunt (who lives near Myrtle beach) may also be in the area so we may meet up with her!

Charleston is definitely on my list of places to visit, I bet it's so fun exploring your new area...although a part of me doesnt think I could actually live anywhere other than new engand...luckily theres enough restaurants around here to keep things new for a LONG time :)

You guys are adorable!! What a great idea to review the restaurants...I would like to volunteer to review the restaurants in my city, but I've lived here most of my life. Can I still do it? :-) The south has some gooooood food, for sure.

Hello. My wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago. It was a foreclosure and we were able to get a great deal on it. We also took advantage of the 8K tax credit so that definitely helped. We did an extensive remodeling job and now I want to refinance to cut the term to a 20 or 15 year loan. Does anyone know any good sites for mortgage information? Thanks!
