ICBINB Fridge Makeover & Oatmeal Cookies

Happy Sunday!! What are you up to today? I am getting ready to go brunch with a fellow blogger (more to come!!). Should be fun stuff :)

Recently, I received a fun Fridge Makeover Kit from the folks at I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. The kit included a reusable shopping bag, grocery shopping gift card, cleaning sponge, a disposable camera, grocery list note pad and fun recipes.

How often do you clean out your fridge? I try to give mine a general wipe down every week, but I'll admit...I only clean out the full fridge every great once in a while.

To get started on my fridge clean out, I leaned on the guidance from the ICBINB team:

"As part of the Reach Right campaign, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter is dedicated to encouraging healthier lifestyles and healthier food choices. The Reach Right mantra is our reminder that healthier foods and recipes are doubly satisfying when they taste great. Enjoying nutritious foods helps you choose them more often. Veggies with lots of fresh herbs and flavor. Succulent fresh fruit. Nutty whole grain muffins. These are great examples of foods that satisfy your cravings and your drive to do the best for your health. Here are a few steps and supporting links to get you on the fast track to a happy, healthy fridge and a better health and better tasting food regimen:

1. Start with a clean-out! "

The before shots:

We were seriously lacking on produce at the end of the week:

So, I got to cleaning. Dirty drawers:

Clean drawers:

And then I hit up step 2. and went food shopping using my new bag:

Re-organized the fridge and filled it with lots of goodies:

and produce (this is only about 1/4 of our produce, the rest is in the cabinet/fruit bowl)!!

And hit up Step 3: Start Cooking/Baking!! ICBINB has some great recipes on their website, but I opted to make my Big Oatmeal Chip Cookies to give to my blogger friend at brunch:

I made half of the batch with chocolate chips and the other half with Nestle Toll House butterscotch chips:

And packaged them up in some of the fun boxes my MIL got me with my initials on them:

Off to Brunch at Charleston's Cafe! Enjoy your Sunday :)

This post came up on my GoogleReader and then when I came to comment it was missing. I didn't realize it said Sunday when it was Saturday (since all of yesterday I thought it was Sunday).

Anyways, my fam's refrigerator is always SO cluttered with expired items too (ew). Maybe that'll be my post graduation project--clean it out!

That cookie box is precious :)

Happy Sunday to you too!! :) Have lots of fun at brunch!! Looking forward to seeing who you're meeting up with... Kath perhaps?? I know she's going to an 11am brunch too!!!!!!

Anyway, I need to clean out our fridge while I'm on spring break next week. Lots of spring cleaning will be going on in the homecookedem household actually!! ;) But I probably clean out the entire fridge about 2 or 3 times a year. Probably needs it more than that, but it's not such a fun chore...

Those boxes with your initials are adorable!! How sweet is your MIL!! :)

That ICBINB bag looks ginormous!!! And I am envious of your clean fridge, I so need to clean everything out, organize it and make it look pretty like yours!

Would this be an appropriate time to take a page out of your book and say, "Ow!"? ;o)

I think so! Way to go on cleaning the fridge! I don't do it nearly enough. I think it's great that ICBINB is encouraging people to do that.

Love all the fresh produce and those COOKIES! Whoever is receiving those is a lucky blogger. The boxes your MIL gave you are awesome, too!

Have fun, Erica!

I need to clean out my fridge so badly. It's pretty bad in there. Thanks for the motivation! It's definitely something that wouldn't take too much time but I usually avoid.

I'm guilty if not doing a deep clean of my fridge as often asd I should. I feel like doing it right now after seeing your post, though! ;) The shelves get wiped down about once a week because the kids are forever dribbling something or other in there.

I love when you bake and those boxes are the absolute coolest.

I seriously loveee how a fridge looks with lots of fresh produce in it :) I just went grocery shopping and cleaned the fridge this morning, but didn't do the whole wash the drawers, etc. I probably should!

Hope brunch was fun!

You have my dream fridge! :-)

I really need to clean mine out. I always dread doing it, but it just "feels" so great to have it all clean. Especially the drawers!

LOVE the boxes. That is actually a great gift idea!

What CUTE boxes! Love the little monogram. I need to clean my fridge out more - only done it twice with the new one - eek! On another note - don't you LOVE the french doors? I don't know how I made it without them - sweet!

I usually do a clean out about once every two weeks. Scrubbing is only done when necessary. :) Looks like you got yours nice and clean. I love the style of it, by the way. Enjoy all that produce!

I am bad about cleaning out our fridge too, yuck.

I cannot wait to find those Okio's Chocolate or Caramel flavors sold individually. I have only found them in a 4 pack. I will stay on the hunt. I may evenutally just break down and hope that I like them : )

LOVE IT! cleaning out the fridge is so therapuetic, I have done it before and found food that I didnt even know what there in the WAY back, its a great thing to do once in a while. I live with two other girls who are JUST as health concious and dairy obsessed as me, so you can imagine our fridge is one big mess! not to mention our freezer which is JAM packed! haha

those cookies look so good and the box that you carried them in is so cute!!

I love cleaning my fridge (is that weird?) My kitchen is constantly being cleaned... It's my favourite part of the apartment and I like it to be 'perfect'. Lol.

Those cookies look great- such a neat idea to use cute packaging like that!

Enjoy your Monday!
