Long Point Grill & Chocolate Almond Milk

Happy weekend! Hope you all are enjoying it and getting in lots of relaxing, like Frank...

Our weekend has been really nice so far. Josh and I had a date night in on Friday night. We ate some dinner and watched Funny People. The movie was ok, but probably 30 minutes too long. Saturday morning, I taught Step and Pump, went grocery shopping, and then relaxed for the remainder of the day (so fabulous).

Saturday night, we went to dinner with friends at Long Point Grill, which is owned by the Dine With Sal Restaurant Group. The atmosphere is wonderful, very homey. The servers are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The kitchen is open to the restaurant so you can see your food being prepared. They also have a ridiculous dessert menu, which is filled with treats from their sister restaurant Village Bakery. Although they do not have a wide variety of vegetarian selections on the menu, they were willing to make me up something special if I wanted it. Instead I choose to go with the soup of the day (which is going to be added to their regular menu), butternut squash topped with candied walnuts. It was even more amazing than it sounds. I ate about half (very rich!) and had to share it with the rest of the table:
I also got the Long Point Grill house salad:

And a side of grilled asparagus

Josh got the pistachio crusted chicken with asparagus and mashed potatoes. He loved it.

All in all, a great dinner!

I also tried a great little treat this weekend as recommended by HEAB. I heated up a cup of unsweetened almond milk:

and added just a touch of sweetener- totally delicious!

Today, I am going to focus on learning the new Body Attack Choreography. I also am taking CPR training to get re-certified and may meet a friend for some coffee. What are you up to?

Looks a restaurant we would love!

You know, I LOVE almond milk and have it all the time but I don't think I've ever even tried chocolate almond milk! I think I kind of forget it's there simply because I always pick up vanilla. One of these days I'll have to try it as well!

I love that chocolate almond milk too! Such a treat.
I can't imagine learning the Attack choreography. I think we are getting Attack in a few months. Not sure if I want to get certified in it or not!!

Are you having any trouble learned 3 systems? I've heard that we shouldn't teach more than 3 at once because it is so much to learn. What do you think girl??

Thanks for the workout tip on my blog. Such a good suggestion. Also, I never get sick of pictures of Frank. I think I'm gonna read a lot and cook today. Oh and spend the day getting psyched for the Golden Globes!

Long Point Grill is my FAVORITE casual dining restaurant in Charleston! Don't know if you've eaten at Sal's other restaurants, but they're all amazing as well. (I eat at Boulevard Diner on Maybank at least twice/month!)

Frank is so cute! I love snapping pics of my dog and cat all snuggled up :)

I've never had or heard of a bad butternut squash soup. I think it's the ultimate squash for soup, so yummy!

Today I've got to hit up the grocery store and work on this week's move of the day exercises using a stability ball.

Glad you got some relaxation time in on Saturday!

I love grilled asparagus! Your dinner looked delicious.

Nothing exciting going on here today - been sitting on the couch working most of the day and am thinking about going to the gym tonight rather than tomorrow to save some time tomorrow.

Enjoy your night!

Hi! First time commenter here, but I've been reading for a while. :) I noticed that you teach Les Mills classes, and I am starting a 10-day free fitness pass at a local gym that has these classes. Seeing all of your pictures from the various classes and launches makes me very excited (and very nervous at the same time) to try all of them! We don't have Attack, but I think I'll be going to Pump, Combat, and Step this week.

I have to try the hot chocolate almond milk too, it sounds like such a decadent drink that's actually healthy for you! Thanks to you and HEAB for that haha

That soup sounds good AND looks delicious!! I still think the best soup I've had in my life is butternut squash soup. :-)

And I didn't know they made chocolate almond milk? I might have to check that out. I've only had the unsweetened in smoothies, but I'm sure it doesn't even compare!

Hope you enjoyed the rest of your weekend!
