A Bumble Review, Turkey Bean Chili

Hi everyone :) Thank you for your nice comments on my last blog post about all of my baking! I was really feeling some blogger love! Was your Monday ok? Mine was alright ;) For breakfast today, I had a bumble bar! I tried the Apricot flavor. These bars are gluten free and vegan:

These bars are VERY unique. The ingredients are as follows (according to the Bumble Website):
Organic agave syrup, Organic apricots, Organic sesame seeds, Organic almond, Organic flax, Organic coconut, Organic apricot flavor, Sea salt, Natural Vitamin E for freshness, Processing agents: Organic safflower and/or sunflower

The taste of these bars is very unique. This particular flavor had an interesting blend of savory and sweet, but the taste of the sesame seeds definitely dominates. The bar is sticky and slightly crunchy. Not my favorite bar flavor yet, I am hoping I will really love one of the other bumbles.

When I got home tonight, I ran 3 miles and did 10 minutes of abs via exercise tv. I then made up some dinner of turkey and bean chili. On the side, I made up some tortilla and flat out wrap chips (brushed with a hint of oil and sprinkled with chili powder and baked until crispy- note...the flat out wrap chips cook VERY quickly).

I again have tons to do tonight! I am hoping to fly through it! I get to work from home Tuesday-Thursday this week and I am thrilled! You may see a lunch post or two ;)

ok, i'm not going to lie. i didn't see the comma in your title, and felt a little vomit come up in my throat when i thought you were reviewing a TURKEY BEAN CHILI flavored bumble bar.

that said, that lovely, flavorful chili sounds delicious! i prefer a turkey chili to ground beef, i feel like it's lighter and lets the tomato, bean and veggie flavors shine through.

happy monday :)

Thanks for the Bumble review - I don't think I'd be a big apricot fan, either.

I love your dinner! I'm going to keep the Flat Out tortilla chips in mind!

Oh, and I am SO pumped for Lost! Bobby and I are just now scrambling to finish the 4th season, but since there were not too many shows last year, we should be set by the 21st! Wahoo :o)

I love the review of the bar - and I LOVED the chili - I need some of that.

Yea working from home! Love when that happens - you can always take a few extra minutes at the gym that way :) Or, at least I do. Good to know the Bumbles aren't necessarily the best, but hopefully there will be one out there that strikes your fancy.

aw so sorry apricot did not win you over- to be honest- so far I am not a true fan either - but the apricot was my "favorite" so far. It was odd because it didn't even taste like apricot really.

If you have another and enjoy it please let me know!

I totally agree that the sesame flavor dominates completely and I do not enjoy that aspect.

monday was pretty good- your turkey chili looks FAB!!!

Cheers to Tuesday!

That bar looks tasty; I'll have to try it!

Yep, they are definitely unique. I didn't have the apricot flavor, so I can't weigh in, but try either the chocolate cherry or lemon next.

Love anything involving Flat Out wraps, but I've never used them for chips. Great idea!

Thanks for the Bumble review. I always pass over them in Whole Foods. Can't wait to hear what you think about the other flavors as I'm always looking for a new bar.

Hope you get all your to-do list items done tonight. Yay for working from home 2 days this week - I know you love that. Have a good night Erica!

So, I went to a new store today, and they had those Bumble bars!! I never would have even picked them up if I hadn't seen them on your blog because of that silly bee. They only had two flavors...I think I bought a lemon one? Cool to see what they look like, I haven't opened mine yet. The ingredients seem similar to a lot of other raw bars I've tried, but they definitely don't look like that!

Hey girl! Great idea with the Flat Out wraps. I always use tortillas to make my homemade chips, but I bet the Flat Out chips would have more of a bite to them.

Have a good Tuesday!
