We made it through Monday –thank goodness! Work went well and then I came home, took Frank for his usual walk and then did an easy run (3.0 miles). It felt great to run outside- it was really warm today. I also did 10 minutes of pilates abs from On Demand. The abs were just OK.
I have decided to leave one dinner per week open (not planned). When I go to the store, I will be looking for new products (especially ones that are on sale!!) to fill that open night. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
This week, I decided to try Jennie-O Lean Seasoned Turkey Burger Patties. I usually make my own turkey burgers but figured I’d lighten my cooking load for one night and try pre-made burgers. The outcome:
On yummy Arnold's Sandwich Thins:

I have never seen those before, but now I'm interested! They look scrumptious! And great meal!
Hooray for surviving Monday!! Before we know it, the beloved weekend will be here :-)
that's a good idea looking for new products once a week, adds a little variety. I haven't heard of the burgers before, i don't know if they have them in Australia, they look tasty though.
I don't eat meat so I haven't tried these, but I like your goal of trying new things!! I wish I could run outside, we are getting tons of snow and the roads are icy. Sad! I have been using my elliptical instead. Have a good night!
My friends get these for BBQ's over summer! They are ok in a pinch...but after making my own, and adding in garlic, cilantro, onion or whatever other yummy flavorings, these pre-made ones just seem kind of dry and measly :D I'm sticking to making my own patties and just freezing them! The melty cheese looks tasty though!
I've never tried them but I think most turkey burgers need a little oomph either in the mix or as a topping since its such a lean meat. They sound good though.
I think my mom eats those
Never had the burgers, but I love sandwich thins! This post title made me think of The Biggest Loser. They're always promoting Jennie-O products. :)
I've tried those before, but they're nothing special. Turkey tends to always be try so its always better to spice it up some how. :)
Your dinner plan sounds great! Congrats on making it through Monday :)
I need a Frank pic, honey. :)
I bet having a dog helps keep you so fit. You work out a lot anyways!
We leave two nights open on our meal plan and it's really fun to make our own dinners! :)
And I forgot to answer your question the other day! I definitely want to move back up to Portland when I'm done, but I don't know what kind of job I want yet...that has a big impact on where we'll live...but I need to be on the coast and I'd love th be with family again! :)
I haven't tried the patties before, but I feel like ground turkey in general always needs a little something something added, it just doesnt have that flavor like beef does. But that also makes it more fun because you can try lots of things...I like mixing in sundried tomatoes, basil and stuffing it with goat cheese! I feel like Ellie has good recipes for those.
Never had them. They look interesting!
i havent tried the patties before- but i have had the sausage and the ground meat.
I like their products in general but I almost don't like it because the biggest loser always advertises jennie o :-P
cheers to tuesday!
I've seen them in the store, but we always stock up on turkey burgers at Costco. In fact, I kind of got burnt out on them. Thanks for the review. Next time I get a craving, maybe I'll just buy Jennie-O's instead of the big Costco sized bag.
PS - That melted cheese on Josh's burger looks good!
i loove burgers with tons of veggie toppings and KETCHUP! =)
i agree with heather - the cheese looks yummy!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!
(though Im a little lazy and might prefer 'homemade' were I to get off my a** and make em).
we have them all the time around here.
I've never tried them but they look good. We had turkey burgers last night too, but I just made them with ground turkey meat on the good old George Foreman grill ... hope you have a good Tuesday!
I've had the plain turkey burgers, but never the seasoned ones. I'm a huge fan of sauteed mushrooms and onions on turkey burgers. Or stuff them with brie and top with grilled apples...yum. :)
I have never tried them, but I think if you jazz them up with toppings - like maybe even putting the apples ON the burger, it could change up the flavoring. Happy Tuesday!
I make these all the time. I keep them in the freezer and then pull them out the day I want them, they are use still partially frozen when I throw them on the George Forman with some garlic powder, salt, pepper and whatever else I feel like sprinkling on. It's a nice quick easy dinner that both the husband and I love.
I use Jenn-O Ground turkey a lot but have never tried their turkey burger. I love to use the group turkey to make meatloaf. Some hate it some love it, and if it’s made right I love it.
I've never had those, but I would imagine they need lots of condiments!
I laugh when I see your plate compared to Josh's. I am learning quickly that Mark needs double of whatever I would need!
If you put Lawry's salt, onion powder, garlic powder and some poultry seasoning on them and grill them on one of those little house grills (Cuisinart or whatever), they're really good. Or pan fry them.
I haven't tried those but I want to try out that bread!
I know this is an older post, but just wanted to add my $0.02
I really enjoy these Jennie-O Turkey Burgers...they are indeed a great quick fix for lunch or dinner. I like to use a grill pan (to get those nice grill marks) and I dash each side with a little McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning (though kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper are nice too). I like to layer on a whole wheat English muffin half with some spicy bbq sauce and a grilled pineapple slice. Occasionally, I like to make some oven baked seasoned sweet potato fries - or even just simple mashed sweet potato (with sweet potato I skip the whole wheat muffin).
The more creative you get with sides and toppings - the more useful these burger seems to be.
I'm interested to know how you make your own turkey burgers...I'm new to your blog...so if it's there I'll find it.
Keep writing!
