Product Review: MorningStar Spicy Black Bean Burger

Hi all! I am so excited that tomorrow is Friday!!!!!! Today was another super busy day, but a great day because I got a ton done. After work, I took the Frankster for his usual walk and then went to the gym and took Body Pump. I came home and cooked dinner (more on that to come) and then had to do some more stuff for work. I got the apartment about 75% cleaned and then finally caught up on blog reading. For dinner tonight, I tried another new (to me) product- Morning Star Black Bean Burgers (nutritional info here).

I cooked mine up in the oven and placed it on top of a salad. It was a little greasy but the taste was AWESOME! I will def be purchasing these again.

For Josh, I made his in true burger form on an Arnold's thin with cheese and a side of brussels. I also made him a buffalo chicken sammy on an Arnold's thin (no pic). Josh also loved the patties! Yayy!

Alright, I'm ready to crash! Weekend plans???

Those burgers sound good! And you already know I love sandwich thins. :) Wegmans was out of them last time I went, so I was excited when I found them back on the shelves.

No weekend plans here! I was out of town last week, so I need to catch up on my usual weekend cleaning, etc. I blame the weather on my lack of motivation too! It's dark and cold whether I go to the gym in the morning or evening.

Wow, I have never tried those before! But they do look tasty!

Weekend plans? I hope it warms up, so we can trout around downtown with my friends! Haha, I'll just bundle up!

I haven't tried those yet! Just their regular veggie burgers which are great. Thanks for the suggestion! You're such a good wife - making dinner for your hubby every night in addition to all you do in your day!

Thanks for the review! I hope to someday be savvy enough to make black bean burgers but until then, these are perfect!!

Weekend plans: homework and lots of it, but Bobby and I are going to celebrate his new job at some point since he was sick last weekend. So that's something to look forward to at least! Have a good one, Erica!

Ooh, I used to eat a TON of Morningstar farms back when I was a semi-vegetarian. These sound so good. Um, weekend plans...birthday party, flirting with the hot salad guy at the farmers market :) Maybe a movie too!

Those burgers look really yum!

I'm so glad the weekend is here, too! We're goin' to Whole Foods tomorrow and I'm excited about that because I love going there and we're out of just about everything, haha.

What are your weekend plans? I hope you have time to relax after your last couple of really busy days!! : )

Lost...AMAZING! The Office....improved from last week but still not as good as the beginning of the season in my opinion!

YAY! So happy to see these pop up on my screen! I love the Black Bean Burgers - so good!! I always blot them with a paper towel after baking to remove any excess greasiness. YUM!

Have a great Friday, girl!

Sounds like a very nice weekend : )

Yeah, you woudln't want to have to live without your yogurt! I sure don't like to! haha.

Yeah, I understand. My regular grocery store unfortunately doesn't have a lot so we try to go to WF ever other weekend or so to get the stuff we can't get here. It's kidna fun for us though because we get to just take an hour drive and talk and stuff.

Anyways, have a great dinner tonight! : )

I've been wondering about those! Thanks for the review!

Weekend plans?? Organizing for my classes, mixed in with some going out, and a little bit o gym time ;)

Morningtars are so much better than Bocas! I am obsessed with their breakfast sausage patties. YUM!

I am so glad it's Friday as well. I don't have to work this weekend - yay. I plan on doing some reading and maybe a little yoga. I found another yoga studio that does power yoga in a heated room, and it's much cheaper than the place I was going. A bit of a drive, but worth it for a good class!

I loved Lost. I think it's going to be really good this season - finally, some of our questions are going to get answered...and I have plenty to ask.

Enjoy your weekend Erica!

I know this is off topic from your last post - but I was wanting to make pancakes tomorrow morning for breakfast and know you have made quite a few different recipes. Is there one that sticks out to you as your favorite that you would recommend? :) Thanks so much!

Hi Mandy!I love all pancakes :) My favorite two are the oatbran pancakes (if you don't have oat bran, grinding up oats in a food processor or magic bullet will work just fine):

and the pumpkin pancakes:

I love those burgers! Eat them for lunch regularly.

I'm doing some cleaning and making pizza with the boy. Not exactly exciting, but definitely enjoyable. :)

MMM that burger looks delish - especially with the cheese on top!

I passed Frank's message along to Lando - she says right back at him! :)

Yum! I keep reading recipes for bean-based burgers and it's making me crave them like crazy!

I have kind of a fun weekend ahead of me - dinner with a friend tonight at a fun new restaurant, and my sister-in-law's baby shower tomorrow night!

That looks delicious. "The Hubby" always cooks up a bunch of beef patties to take to work during the week. Lately the ground beef just doesn't sound good. But I love black beans, and that looks awesome. Will try. Thanks for the review.

I don't usually do the packaged veggie burger thing but good to know they taste good in a pinch! Looks like you cooked up some brussel sprouts too? yay :-) This weekend? Resting.
