Weekend/Charleston SPCA

Hi guys :) Thank you for all the support via your comments on my last post. They all had me smiling!! Have you had a good weekend so far? Mine has been very nice.

Friday
A little cleaning, a 6 mile run, and a few hours of work followed by shopping with my Aunt & Mom. We ate lunch at a great little cafe in Mount Pleasant called Mosaic. The restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere and the menu is filled with delicious pitas, sandwiches, rollers (wraps), salads, soups, pita pizzas and burgers. The best part (as per their website):

"MOSAIC sources the best local ingredients (whenever possible) to create healthy, beautiful, sumptuous and regionally focused seasonal cuisine with inspiration drawn from many different regions of the world."

When I saw their specials, I knew I wanted the soup special:

It was amazing!

Mosaic Cafe & Catering on Urbanspoon
Friday night, we went to Josh's work holiday party (sorry for the dark/grainy picture):

Saturday
Today I taught Body Step and went grocery shopping. Then, Josh and I headed to the Charleston SPCA to make a donation of money and towels and to give all of the adorable dogs some cookies.

The dogs were SO cute, I wanted to take them all home :). Animal shelters can always use donations!! We grabbed a copy of their "wish list" and plan to donate again in the future:

My favorite item on their wish list is peanut butter ;)

That's always on my wish list too.
Tell me about your weekend!!

What a FANTASTIC idea to donate to the animal shelter. I'm going to look online and see if my local shelter has a list of items they need!

Thanks so much for the idea!

Wow--love the sound of that chili--I have yet to try making some with chocolate, but I do have a recipe sitting somewhere that I've wanted to try!! Sounds like that restaurant has a lot of good stuff.

And sooo cool of you guys to help out the little animals :-) They are all so cute! I try to avoid the humane society because I get too attached to them! :o(

I had to stop looking at puppies/doggies online cause I always want all of them too!

Weekend was spent relaxing with some friends. It was perfect.

I love donating to the shelters. It is so very hard to go and see all those faces though. Peanut butter is a good one. That is how some friends of mine would give their dogs his medicine.

Aww the dogs break my heart - I would adopt them all if I could!

I love your dress for the party - you looked beautiful!

Britt said...

You looked fabulous Friday night!

Poor poochies.... I'm not allowed to go to the shelter any more as my hubby KNOWS I'll come home with one. But we should make a holiday donation as well. Great idea!

I'm back from NYC and NJ, relaxing at home and getting ready for the week!

I don't know how you left without taking at least a couple of them home! ;) We got our kitties from the animal shelter and not being able to take home all of the cats and dogs that needed a good home nearly broke my heart. I felt so guilty for having to pick amongst them. :(

Pretty dress - hope you had a great time.

I would LOVE to meet up for a misto, but sadly, we'll be all the way across the state in Greenville. :(

Oh that is so sweet you went to the shelter. I've always wanted to volunteer for a kitty shelter. Though I'd end up with 30 cats at home instead of 3...

Erica,
You looked so pretty for Josh's party. Josh looked nice too. :)

I love that you guys donated to the SPCA. I don't think I could ever go there as I KNOW we would end up with another dog, but I could definitely send them some peanut butter. :)

We adopted Radley from the SPCA of Brentwood, and so they hold a special place in my heart. :)

When my daughters hampster was sick, they actually gave me virgin strawberry daquari mix to mix with the medicine!
