Strawberry Picking & Asparagus Guacamole

Yayyy for the weekend! What have you been up to? On Friday, after a nice workout and food shopping, Kaylin and I met Christina at Boone Hall Plantation to go strawberry picking.

It was super windy and the fields were extra muddy from the rain, but we got a delicious bundle of berries:

Yum!

Friday night, we enjoyed a delicious dinner in. A Mexican feast including my burrito filler & homemade guacamole. This guacamole was different because it was a combination of asparagus:

and avocado. I found the recipe in my Self Magazine. The recipe is posted here (I eliminated the tomatoes because Josh isn’t a tomato fan). The outcome is SO yummy. You can’t even taste the asparagus.

Saturday morning, I took Body Step, did a few things around the house, and got a pedicure. Post half marathon, my feet were a disaster and in need of some love. Josh and I also spent lots of quality time with Kaylin and we went to dinner with his parents.

Sunday, we’re trying out a new-to-us restaurant/coffee spot and may be going shopping for new clothes for Kaylin & Josh. I may squeeze a run in (if this crazy weather cooperates). What are you up to??

Awww, looks like fun! There are some strawberry-picking places near us that I want to go to with LIla, even though she's a little young. ;-)

Oh how I wish it were strawberry season here - I have to wait another month! Cannot wait to make jam and eat them fresh by the handful!

Sounds like a great weekend, you definitely deserved the pedicure. I love the idea of adding asparagus, we are asparagus obsessed here in the boyle house! Today we're recovering from a few too many glasses of wine and then getting a great workout in!

asparagus guac - i am so intrigued but i like both asparagus and guac so can't imagine this isn't super tasty (and super healthy!) i love that it's strawberry season, although it's been so randomly chilly here in VA I think I am just starting to see local berries hit the market... wish summer would just get here already and stop teasing us! :)

Sounds like an amazing family weekend - those are always my most favorite!

The weather was beautiful this past weekend so we actually got to spend most of it outside. I'm praying it stays like this for a bit!
