Practice Run, Froyo, Mellow Mushroom

How is your long weekend going so far? Mine has been lovely! Josh and I went into Charleston yesterday and walked around. We made a stop at Fresh Berry for my "birthday cake"- delicious froyo and fruit:

Amazing! When we got home, we took the Frankster for a walk (lots of walking yesterday!!) and then headed out to dinner with a friend. We went to Mellow Mushroom and Josh was thrilled to see that they had added prosciutto to their menu!!

Josh and our friend ordered the garlic Parmesan pretzels to start. I nabbed a piece- they are as good as they look:

I got a salad (I was still pretty full from our froyo ;)) of romaine, green peppers, onions, cucumber, tomato, avocado and a side of herb vinaigrette.

Josh got a pizza with artichokes and prosciutto:

We came home and I hit the hay early. I woke up at 6:45 ready to do my practice run for a bridge race I am hoping to run in October. Here is the view as I drove to the starting line:

I was nervous to run the bridge as I've been training mostly on flat ground. However, I completed the 10k run and was happy with my stats:

And was a nice sweaty mess after:

Today I am hoping to go to the beach and maybe pick up some new running sneakers! What is your favorite sneaker brand/model?
Goal Check-in for the Weekend:
Spend at least 8 hours outside - 5 hours down already!!
Smile more - :)
Complete a test run for an upcoming race I am hoping to complete- Done!
Eat Fresh Berry - Done!
Spend lots of time with Josh and Frank - Have been doing lots of this and am hoping for even more!

How are you doing with your weekend goals??

Yay for completing your practice run - that's gotta feel really good! As does eating that froyo which looks delicious! Nice work on your goal list. I didn't make any kind of goals for the weekend except to relax and enjoy - it's working out so far!!
Oh! Favorite running shoe? I'm rocking Brooks and I love em.

We have a place similar to Fresh Berry in Chicago called Berry Chill, it's my favorite place for a sweet treat! My old running shoes were Asics, but I wasn't totally in love with them. So when I went shopping for a new pair, I bought New Balance. So far I'm really liking them but wish they had a little more cushion on the bottoms for when I run long distances!

Allie (Live Laugh Eat) said...

I love Asics! I use to have Gel-Nimbuses but then switched to Gel-Kayanos because I needed more arch support and I got a GREAT deal on them.

LOVE the looks of Fresh Berry...refreshing and the other food...wowser!

Congrats. on your run....I knew you could do it!

Have fun and I love the smile part!

Mmmm - pretzels always look so good! As does froyo. :-)

I love your goals!! That is a great idea. Especially spending more time outside...that is something a lot of us push to the backburner, but it's so important!

Congrats on your run, too! You are totally gonna rock on your race!

I have got to try Mellow Mushroom!! Good job on your run! I just got a pair of Brooks and really like them! I went to a running store and they really took the time to fit me, I'm glad I did it. Before these, I had a pair of Sauconys that I loved.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! We just got back from a week in Marco Island so I am still catching up!!

Great run! And the fro-yo looks better than any piece of b-day cake!

Great run Erica, test run is a good idea before a race. I think I'd pick fro-yo over b-day cake any day. I'm happy to say I made ''list of things to do'' and got it all done!

I miss Mellow Mushroom!! I always went to it in Tennessee when I went to boarding school there and I would always get one of their delicious huge salads and pizza!!

YAY for froyo...I miss it sooooo much being in college !!

Glad you are having a nice weekend! We are too! We are in IL on vacation. I finally got to meet my little niece, she is a doll! We did yoga today and went on a walk-it's been nice to relax. We are here until Tuesday. I love fro yo too! My favorite treat!

For running I like Mizzuno or Saucony. I recommend going to a store that watches you run and can fit your shoe perfectly. The right shoes are SO important!

Wow, that froyo looks gorgeous! I'm glad the run went well, and I'm sure you'll rock that race :) My favorite running shoes are sauconys. I have a flat foot, and need some motion control. I also wear orthotics, too. My feet are jacked up, haha!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

I have accomplished all of my goals! I checked off my last two today: I bought the baby gift and went grocery shopping. Why do I love grocery shopping so much? Mallard watched Snuffy and as much as I enjoy our "girl time", it was so nice to be able to be alone with my thoughts, my list and my love (Whole Foods). :)

Your "smile more" made me smile! I LOVE Aasics...I've been through at least 3 of the same "model #" in the past year in a half. You can get them on Zappos for cheap too!

Celebrating your birthday with fro-yo is an excellent idea. I pretty much celebrate every Friday night with FroYo but any reason is a reason for me. :)

Great job on the run. I'm sure you felt amazing afterwards.

Also, wonderful job on getting your goals accomplished this weekend. Way to be true to yourself!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend darlin'.
