Crazy Cook & Blogger Meet Up

Thank you all for the feel better wishes & keep those galaxy granola entries coming!! I didn’t end up going to the Quarterly, but am back to feeling 100% today and have had a great weekend so far. Last night, we headed to Cuoco Pazzo (the crazy cook) for dinner with our friends Mandi, Bryan, Lindsay and Patrick.

meetup 001 One of the funny things about the Charleston area is that some of the better restaurants are hidden and don’t look like much from the outside. This is exactly the case with Cuoco Pazzo. The restaurant is basically one small room with only about a dozen tables.  We called ahead and made a reservation.  For dinner, Josh got the Pollo alla Parmigiana:

And I got the Spaghetti Aglio E Olio (spaghetti with red pepper, garlic, parsley and olive oil). It was basically enough pasta to feed a family of four :). Luckily, I had a very hungry husband to share with.

meetup 003

Everyone enjoyed their meals. One of the neatest parts about the restaurant is that they have a man who sings (in Italian) a few nights a week. He was there last night and was amazing!  The ladies (Mandi, Me, Lindsay):

I woke up this morning and fit in a great six miler before it got too hot:

Then I did a few things around the house and headed downtown for a blogger meet up with a very cool lady, Kelly from Fitting Back In, who is in town for a wedding.  We met at Caviar and Bananas, an adorable market & cafe in downtown Charleston.

Caviar and Bananas offers everything from baked goods

to coffee, to beautifully prepared salads, sushi, sandwiches, etc.   Since I am officially a parfait expert, I had to give theirs a try. I also got a cafe au lait.

meetup 010

Their parfait was very yummy, but again, no match for my favorite from Charleston’s Cafe.

Kelly is adorable and so easy to talk to! We gabbed for almost an hour. I also got to meet her husband, Austin, and two of their friends. They were all so, so sweet. Kelly & Austin are a fabulous couple.

On the way out, I grabbed two key lime tars for Josh:

The rest of my day has been spent running errands. I am going to head to the pool for an hour and then will be packing up for a work trip. What have you been up to this weekend??

Oooh. Let me know what Josh thought about those Key Lime Tarts! Isn't Caviar and Bananas cool? I spent the day cleaning out my closets. Can you believe I still had stuff from ten years ago that I hadn't worn. Off to Goodwill it went. Have a good trip chica! <3 Ya

Why does it seem that pasta is always served in mountain-sized portions?? Fortunately, I usually have a hungry guy to share with too:)

I know what you mean... often the best restaurants are hidden away and don't look like much from outside!

That pasta looks SO GOOD. I haven't had a really good pasta dish in a while, and I'm craving it.

Glad you're feeling better :-)
