Launch Day & Restaurant Week

Happy weekend!! How has yours been so far? Good stuff around here. Friday was a chill night in.

Saturday started with a bang. I taught in our Body Step:

The rooms were totally packed. Love launch days.

After class, I got a few things done around the house and then peanut and I went for a walk. I couldn’t believe it was 75 degrees!

To celebrate restaurant week, we went out to a new-to-me restaurant, Stars:IMG_2926

This restaurant is super swanky:IMG_2927

My favorite thing about this restaurant? According to their website:

Chef Thurston and his culinary team are dedicated to serving locally sourced foods provided by the farmers, fishermen, gatherers and purveyors of our beautiful Lowcountry. Star’s menu is accented with unique culinary techniques using a custom designed live fire grill and rotisserie, hearth oven and rolled steel plancha.”

Awesomeness. I ordered off of the regular menu and got the winter squash:

It was an awesome mix of flavors;

Josh ordered off of the restaurant week menu and got the wood-grilled blue crab soup (I nabbed some- so good, not heavy at all):

Wood-grilled beef shoulder tenderloin:

and smoked chocolate s’mores pie (which we all helped with- the crust was the best part nom nom nom):IMG_2934

Kaylin was awesome during dinner! She barely got fussy (so grateful). As per usual, she wouldn’t get off her cell ;)IMG_2935

Overall, we all enjoyed dinner. The quality of the food was very good and it was cooked well. The restaurant week portions were a little on the small side. We plan to return to Stars.
