Strawberry Bread/Real Housewives of My Neighborhood

Hope your week is going well. Thank you all for your sympathy on my laptop! Unfortunately, since I work mostly with spreadsheets, a Mac is not really an option (I'm a PC!). They're supposed to get it fixed tomorrow. The upside to all this is I have been "forced" to work from home for two days. This allowed me to get in two morning workouts- yesterday I did a full Body Attack practice at home (we have a launch next week) and this morning I did 1/2 hour of Body Attack, 1/2 hour run outside. Hooray!

Last night my neighborhood had a "ladies night" get together aka- a real housewives party. They have one about every month. It is basically appetizers and wine and chatting. Since I don't know anyone in the neighborhood yet, I did a quick half hour run in/out. All of the ladies were VERY nice and I am excited to get to know them more. I brought a platter of chocolate chip sweet bread and strawberry bread that I made based on this Joy of Baking recipe (I used egg whites instead of eggs and less sugar than what was called for). Both breads turned out really well, or so says my taste tester Josh (I may have to save some of the strawberry bread for after clean month so I can try it!).

Last night I also made a little veggie dish for din din based on this 101 cookbooks recipe (I subbed brussels for the asparagus).
Very yum!

Weekend plans??

ah that's too bad about not being able to have Mac. I love my Macbook, and can't imagine life with PC now!
anyway, seems like you're really doing a good job on clean eating! I love all the recipes in 101 cookbooks, esp that brussel sprouts look very very very good!!

delicious bread!!!
just question about mac. I use mac and I'm so happy about it. I also work with excel a lot, so why you find it not possible to work with mac? (just curiosity)

Veggie dish looks delicious~~ ^_^

YAY PC!! We've got to stick together ;) So here's the deal - since I'm sick of Michigan weather, I'll move where you guys moved to and when Bravo comes a callin' we can be on the new season of Housewives (I can just be that token single girl they have every season ;) ).

Thanks for the link to that recipe! It sounds good!

I lost one computer to a crash and lost all my work. I now backup every other day. But now this computer is slowly on its way out, I am going to get a Mac next as I hate pc's, since they always die. I know you can't get a mac. I am making banana bread as I write this and wishing I threw some strawberries in it. I love 101 cookbooks too.

Wine, chatting and hors d'Ĺ“uvre? I am not a woman, and I don't live in your neighborhood, but, um... I kinda want an invitation.

I love anything with strawberries in it. The U-pick placed are open now. They had a few at the Charleston Farmers Market but I think they came from Florida. Nice blog. I'm not sure how I found it.

The strawberry bread looks great! I wish I could be the taster! :)

Not much doing this weekend - leading another training run on Saturday morning, and then probably just relaxing and letting myself breathe a bit! I've been going at full warp speed lately!

Hope you and Josh have a nice one!

I'm glad you're meeting your neighbors! I always thought it would be fun to have a bunch of friends close by like that. They get together like that here in my mom's neighborhood, but they're all like 60. :)

Erica,
Your breads look beautiful, and how fun that all the neighborhood girls get together once a month. Chris and I are the youngest ones on our street...sometimes we'll throw the ball around in the front yard, and I know our neighbors are thinking...Where are their parents?

The strawberry bread sounds great. Do you ever bake with agave. That is something I'm learning through trial and error.
