Camera Help & Workout Wednesday

Hello all! Hope your short work/school week is flying by. My week certainly has been moving at warp speed.

Yesterday afternoon, I prepped dinner for both Josh and myself before I headed out to teach. When I went to photograph the dishes, I noticed my camera screen had stopped working! The good news is that the camera is still taking pictures. The bad news is I can’t see what I’m taking a picture of haha. So please excuse my dinner photos.

Like many of you, my tummy was feeling heavvvvvvvvy after this long holiday weekend. To lighten things up, I made a big salad with lettuce, oven roasted green beans, broccoli, snap peas, broccoli slaw, tomato and Gardein Seven Grain Crispy Tenders (these tenders are seriously amazing). I topped my salad with olive oil and vinegar and had a bundle of crackers & an apple with a little nut butter on the side:

For Josh, I used leftover steak and made him a steak and cheese wrap. He also had roasted green beans, roasted artichokes and pineapple:

Since my camera is only half working, I’m thinking its about time I got a new one. Please tell me what kind of camera you have and if you like it! Thank you so much!!

Whats on tap for your workouts this week? My plan is as follows:

  • Monday: Ran to warm up, taught Body Pump
  • Tuesday: Taught Body Attack (the new upper body conditioning track is killer…loving it :))
  • Wednesday: Off
  • Thursday: Teach 45 minute Step, 45 minute Pump
  • Friday: Teach Pump
  • Saturday:  Teach Body Step & Body Pump Launch (My Mom is coming down for the launch!!!)
  • Sunday: Off

My schedule is a little pump heavy due to subbing/the launch. Do you all have any group fitness specific questions? Or questions about any of the Les Mills programs? Let me know and I will try to get you answers!

Enjoy your Wednesday.

  2. I currently use a Canon EOS Rebel XS. We went back and forth between the Rebel XS and XSi - ultimately we went for a cheaper body so that we could sink more into our lenses. I love my DSLR and think it's the best for blogging!

  3. I always crave pineapple when the weather is hot like this. Dinner looks delish :) That stinks about your camera! I've been using the Nikon P90 and think it's good for an inexpensive but still nice camera. I really want a DSLR though!

  8. My knee is still bothering me from after my half marathon so I am going to be taking it an easy for awhile and heading to the doctor. :(

Any good cardio workouts though that you'd suggest that aren't hard on the knee area?

  9. oooh new camera time! i have a login and password to the consumer reports site if you want it. it was SO helpful and that's how i chose my current camera: canon sd780. i like mine a lot for a p&s. email me if you want the password :)

  10. Hey Lady! I'm a Canon girl. I love my camera. It takes HD pics so they always turn out well. I really want a Rebel though, but I'm not sure how I'd deal with the bulkiness of an SLR. Salads always make me feel better after heavy holiday eating. I definitely did my share!

  11. I have a Nikon D60 and absolutely love it!!!

That salad looks delish : ) I can never find a group exercise that I stick to - I enjoy them when I take them though. I think it is a scheduling thing.

  12. I've been looking for those Gardein products all over Cleveland!
Wednesdays are my "off" days, but I need to practice Group Step and learn a few more Group Power tracks. Our launch is next week!

  13. You're camera predicament is the definition of point and shoot now, haha! That stinks though, I'm sorry! I just got a new cam for my bday and I really like it. There's a pic of it on my blog. I also have an Olympus dSLR for fancy pants pictures that was cheaper than both Nikon and Canon.

I have got to try Gardein! I've been missing "chicken tenders" for a while now. Do you think Wendy's will let me buy just the dipping sauce so I can pretend I'm eating fast food?! ;)

    HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!!

  18. While I crave an DSLR, it's not in my budget right now!

My camera is an Olympus 1010, about a year and a half old - it even has a "cuisine" setting!

  19. Yes heavy is a great word for how I felt after the indulgent weekend. Simple fresh salads have been perfect. Your workouts sound fun! Mine have been full of p90x still :)

  20. Loving that salad! Gardein tenders make for such a great protein-rich salad topping.
As far as a camera goes, I think it would depend on what you are looking for. I am a point-and-shoot person myself. In the future I would love to own a DSLR, but they are quite pricey. I manage to take some pretty good photos with my little Canon powershot. It's inexpensive, pocket-sized, and the macro function is great for food photos. Here's a link if you want to check it out: http://bit.ly/bZpPpX.

  21. I just got a Nikon D90 which is a lot of fun. I am still learning how to use it... I imagine it will take a while.
I noticed at my gym that they are offering a Glide class... do you know anything about that class?

  22. roasted veg on a salad is such a treat, i love doing that too! sorry to hear about your camera :/

  23. I have a Canon Rebel XSi and a Canon Powershot, both of which I really like.

  24. Love salads!!! So yummy and fresh.

  25. I use a Canon EOS Rebel XS. Since I'm not really a photography fanatic (I like food!) I felt that buying one of the top of the line bodies was just silly. If you get the kit, the lens that comes with it works well. All of my pictures from December 2009 forward are from it :).

My 24 Hour Fitness is doing the Body Pump Launch this Saturday too! I'm so excited! We're also supposed to be getting Body Attack soon. I can't wait to try out that class. Hopefully we'll get Body Camp at some point too.

  28. That is so neat that your mom is coming to the launch! What a sweet mama.

Those are actually really good pics for not being able to see what you're shooting! I just got (well, this winter) the Canon Powershot SD1200 (Point and shoot). I LOVE it! I don't even know how to use all of the features, but it does the job for me. :-)

  29. Love a good salad! And they always make me feel better after a weekend of eating!

I have a Canon Power Shot...I like it because it's small, but I honestly need to sit and look at the manual to see what it's capable of! :)

  30. do NOT get an olympus! i have one and it eats my pictures all the time! it's so annoying. my bestie just got a canon and she love love love loveeeees it! it takes gorgeous pictures too :) she's had a bunch of diff cameras and says she'll never buy anything but canon!

gah! i had the biggest 4th of july belly ever!

  36. Girl, that salad looks GOOD! I love having a nice light meal after a weekend of heavy eating.

Sorry about your camera. I really want a nice, new camera, but it is not in our budget right now. I've heard great things about the canon rebels though!

  37. Hey there sweet girl! I have been craving salads every day of my life these days.

Hmm, I have a cannon that I do like. But if I had any option, I would definitely go with an SLR. It's just amazing the difference in quality. I say if you can swing it, go for the Cannon Rebel. My dad just got it and he LOVES it!

  38. Hi Erica! I wish I could come down for your launch on Saturday I bet it's so fun! I always wonder, how long do you run before pump? I usually only have time/energy for a quick mile at 5:30 in the morning...

on the camera, I would suggest splurging on one of those really nice cannons with the big lens, they're awesome, and the pictures are unreal! espescially for vacations and special events. but even the small cannons are so great now. Just go for the highest resolution.

  39. Eek! I hope your camera snaps out of it! If not, I recommend the Canon PowerShot SD1200S.

i have a sony 12.1 point and shoot. it does a fine job and was about $250 2 yrs ago. right now i dont really even know if i was a DSLR or not. The having to focus it scares me but ive heard the canon rebel is great. it depends ifyou're in the $500 range or not.

  42. Love apples with nut butter after a salad dinner!

I have a Canon PowerShot 990IS and I'm very happy with it. If you're looking for a P&S vs. a DSLR, I would highly recommend it. It takes crisp, clear pictures and can easily fit in your purse.

  43. The salad and wrap you made both looks yummy! I'm currently not very happy with my current camera so unfortunately I can't help you there. I will be reading other peoples responses as I want to get a new camera also.
